Synergy of Music Theatre (SMouTh) is the longest-standing and most active musical theatre company in the Greek periphery. It was established in 2001 by a collective of young artists who had returned to Larissa from abroad. Their goal was the creation of a permanent hub for artistic initiation, research, creation, and expression for young people and adults. Since its foundation, it has been active in the development and promotion of the performing arts in the city of Larissa, conducting educational workshops for young people in the field of Music Theatre and the arts that compose it (music, theatre, dance/movement, creative writing, multimedia, and visual arts), and presenting dozens of productions of music theatre, opera, dance theatre, theatre, and contemporary performance.
It participates in international co-productions and European programs, and collaborates with distinguished artists, organisations, universities, and institutions from all over Europe, making use of art as a means for raising awareness and addressing issues of social dimension.
SMouTh coordinates artistically two festivals in Larissa: the European Music Festival and the MPArt Festival. It is a member of the international networks ROOTS & ROUTES International, Anna Lindh Foundation, Generation Europe, and AJCM (Ateliers des Jeunes Citoyens de la Méditerranée).
