The Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy (H.I.C.D.) is a self-funded, politically independent, non-governmental organization, which maintains branches in Greece and abroad, whose main object is Cultural Diplomacy and mild power. It was founded on March 25, 2017, by Greek scientists, with the main concern of the creation of a supra-party and independent institution which focuses on the strengthening of the Greek Cultural Diplomacy.

The main objectives of the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy are:

I. Job placement for young scientists
II. Strengthening of the soft power of Greece
III. Creation of extroversion
IV. Support of small and medium enterprises, which wish to export Greek
products abroad.
V. Strengthen intercultural dialogue.

VI. Collection, protection, and preservation of historical archives, works, traces, and monuments of the Greek Culture.
VII. Institutionalization, announcement, and granting of financial aid for the promotion of Greek authors and their work, but also studies or research related to the purposes of the Institute.
VIII. Institutionalization of the awarding of prizes and scholarships to individuals, groups, organizations, or units of persons, who are distinguished by their work in culture.
IX. Research and documentation of cultural development issues and their wide publicity.
X. Training and education of executives who voluntarily serve Cultural Diplomacy in any form.
XI. Strengthening public awareness and image of the role of cultural diplomacy.

About Us

The Hellenic Foundation for Culture leads and coordinates the Greek National Network of the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures. The network’s co-lead is the civil non-profit organization “United Societies of Balkans,” which works together with the Foundation to achieve the network’s objectives.
