Zeuxis NGO is a non-profit organisation, founded in 2018 with the aim to support vulnerable groups of people and to contribute effectively to the lives of those in need. Zeuxis vision is to combat poverty, social exclusion and discrimination, to promote social cohesion as well as to contribute to the management of mixed migration flows with respect to human rights and European and national legislation. Having played a vital role in the management of mixed migratory flows (reception, hosting, protection and integration) as well as in the formation of the legal framework in Greece in these fields, Zeuxis' team has accumulated substantial and constructive experience in dealing with migration, asylum and human rights in Greece and abroad. Zeuxis strategy focuses on specialization in the field of operation, impartially and responsibly addressing the needs of all beneficiaries, cooperation with relevant private and public actors, transparency and continuous improvement of services. To this end, Zeuxis (a) implements a Quality Management System according to the Standard ΕΝ ISO 9001:2015 for social support services and for planning, implementation, monitoring and management of co- financed projects,(b) is one of the first NGOs registered in the "Register of Greek and Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) dealing with international protection, migration and social integration issues" of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum,(c) has received special certification by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs for the provision of social (primary and secondary) care services (O.G.G. 5729 Dec 28, 2020).
Our organisation has extensive experience in supporting unaccompanied minors and implementing child protection interventions, which makes it fully suitable to undertake an age assessment project. Through years of fieldwork, the organization has developed specialized know-how and reliable, evidence-based, child-centered methodologies. Its highly trained and continuously educated staff ensure professional and multidisciplinary approaches, addressing the psychological, medical, and social aspects of age assessment. ZEUXIS combines long-standing expertise with a strong commitment to social responsibility and child protection policies, guaranteeing that all actions respect dignity, safeguarding, and accountability. This proven capacity and ethical framework position ZEUXIS as a trustworthy and competent partner for delivering age assessment services at European level. Over the years, ZEUXIS has built strong collaborations with multiple public and private key stakeholders and organizations that promote and uphold the principles of child protection. At both European and local level, the organization maintains active partnerships, exchanging expertise and knowledge with institutions, agencies, and networks committed to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable children.
ZEUXIS designs and implements programmes and operates structures that aim to fulfil its vision, mission, and objectives, focusing on the protection, support, and inclusion of unaccompanied minors, refugees, and migrants. The organisation operates Shelters for Unaccompanied Minors (boys and girls) and has implemented a wide range of initiatives, including a Day Care Centre for psychosocial support and non-formal education of refugee and migrant children and their families, the “Health Guesthouse” for families travelling to Athens for their children’s medical treatment, and the ACTIVE programme supporting the integration of young refugees and migrants through volunteer-based activities. ZEUXIS has also been active at Greece’s maritime borders, providing protection and support to unaccompanied minors in Safe Zones within Closed Controlled Facilities, as well as in mainland Greece. Furthermore, the organisation has participated as an implementing partner in projects such as COMPASS (PYXIDA) on safe transport of unaccompanied minors with health issues and anti-trafficking awareness through educative workshops, GO2VET on improving access of young third-country nationals to vocational education and training, and FORTIFY on strengthening protection systems for unaccompanied minors and preventing juvenile delinquency. ZEUXIS continues to operate two Shelters for Unaccompanied Minors — OIKOS in Athens for girls and FOIVOS in Piraeus for boys.
