Lighthouse of the World is a Youth Support association, we are in Dendropotamos of Thessaloniki, the biggest Ghetto of Roma in N. Thessaloniki. The main purpose of our organization is to achieve the social inclusion of Roma people through learning, approaching the topic of education with more active ways of teaching that are focused on the student, so that the process is more pleasant and more person- centered ( such us educational Robotics, learning through art, sport and learning, ). Realizing the needs of society and especially of vulnerable social groups, we have focused on the direct connection between work and training (constructions of recyclable materials). As their social inclusion will be facilitated by their legal vocational rehabilitation. 
The range of our activities has a variety of actions that cover a basic range of children's and youth needs. Indicatively some of them are:
Robotics Courses , Rhetoric Contest, Foreign language courses (English, German, French etc), Supplementary teaching courses (Report, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History,etc.), Astronomy Courses. Gardening.Rescue and care of stray animals.Youth entrepreneurship seminars. Roma women empowerment seminars and prevention of premature marriage and early pregnancy. Photography lessons. Seminar about Human Rights.

About Us

The Hellenic Foundation for Culture leads and coordinates the Greek National Network of the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures. The network’s co-lead is the civil non-profit organization “United Societies of Balkans,” which works together with the Foundation to achieve the network’s objectives.
