IASIS NGO is a non-profit organization based in Athens, Greece, founded in 2005 with the mission to promote mental health, social inclusion, and equal opportunities for all, particularly for vulnerable and socially excluded populations. IASIS operates at the intersection of healthcare, education, and social care, offering integrated and person-centered services at local, national, and European levels.
The organization runs a wide range of community-based structures and support services, including Day Centers, Boarding Houses, Mobile Mental Health Units, Shelters for unaccompanied minors and migrant families, Supported Living Units, and Home Care programs. These services focus on psychosocial rehabilitation, mental health support, active ageing, and independent living, particularly for seniors, persons with chronic mental illness, migrants, and people with disabilities.
IASIS is also a certified Lifelong Learning Centre (Edify Centre), delivering vocational training programs for professionals in the health and care sectors, unemployed adults, caregivers, and young people with fewer opportunities. Training topics include mental health, psychosocial support, intercultural communication, digital inclusion, and skills development for employability.
With strong expertise in integration, IASIS supports underepressented groups through structured psychosocial support, cultural orientation, trauma-informed care, and community engagement. Initiatives such as integration workshops, and school-based psychoeducation reflect its commitment to inclusive, grassroots interventions.
IASIS is actively involved in more than 60 European projects, funded by Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, CERV, EU4Health, and AMIF. These projects address key priorities such as active ageing, trauma recovery, intergenerational learning, digital health innovation, and inclusive service design. The organization also leads or contributes to research and policy development in collaboration with universities, municipalities, and public health authorities.
IASIS has a broad dissemination capacity, reaching more than 75,000 beneficiaries annually, with over 59,000 social media followers, 600 active volunteers, and a network of 500+ partner organizations. It is a member of key European platforms enabling cross-border collaboration, clustering, and sustainability of results.
Through its comprehensive service model, highly skilled staff, and deep community engagement, IASIS continues to act as a bridge between healthcare systems, social policy, and civic empowerment, ensuring long-term impact across diverse populations.
