The Cultural Association of Women of Amorgos was founded in 1994 to offer its services to the island of Amorgos, aiming at the improvement and preservation of its cultural heritage. Its activities include:
The development of bonds and cultivation of relationships among the inhabitants of Amorgos Island, especially among women, by all appropriate means.
The protection of women, motherhood, children, and the family.
The development of cooperation with schools and the provision of any possible assistance to support their smooth operation.
The support of any educational, cultural, athletic, or other activity of the municipality and the region, with the aim of promoting cooperation in the fields of culture, sports, and education.
The contribution to the enhancement of the cultural and educational level of the inhabitants of Amorgos and the improvement of their general living conditions.
The joint effort to solve local problems and to establish a better way of life based on sound spiritual, cultural, and recreational values.
The promotion of love for nature and efforts for environmental protection, the preservation and dissemination of cultural heritage, and, in general, the beautification of the island.
The encouragement of initiative and responsibility in all areas of human thought and creativity and their contribution to society.
The promotion of the idea of volunteerism.
Social contribution based on the principles of free expression, equality, and fraternity.

About Us

The Hellenic Foundation for Culture leads and coordinates the Greek National Network of the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures. The network’s co-lead is the civil non-profit organization “United Societies of Balkans,” which works together with the Foundation to achieve the network’s objectives.
