The Center for Culture, Education and Youth “ORFEAS” AMKE is a non-profit organisation based in Xylokastro, Corinthia (Greece), active since 2000. The organisation operates in the fields of youth, culture, education, social inclusion and sport with the goal of promotion as a means to support physical and mental well-being, social participation and community cohesion.
Orfeas aims to promote active citizenship, solidarity, volunteering and non-formal education, encouraging young people and local communities to engage in meaningful collective activities that strengthen European values, inclusion and mutual understanding. Through close cooperation with local authorities, schools, sports clubs and cultural associations, Orfeas develops initiatives that connect healthy lifestyles, sport, culture and community life, following the principle of “thinking globally and acting locally”.
The organisation has long-standing experience in coordinating European programs (Erasmus+, European Solidarity Corps) and in organising local and international activities that bring together young people, volunteers and citizens from the local community of different ages and backgrounds. We give emphasis on inclusive participation, access for people with fewer opportunities.
